The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outrightly rejected a directive from the Electoral Commission (EC) calling for a rerun of elections at a single polling station in the Dome/Kwabenya constituency.
The NDC is challenging the directive on grounds that its candidate, Elikplim Akurugu, has already secured an unassailable lead and effectively won the seat.
The Electoral Commission's announcement of the rerun directive came on Saturday, December 28, following the continuation of results collation for the Dome/Kwabenya constituency at its Greater Accra office.
EC's directive was prompted by the absence of a pink sheet for the Abokobi Women's Development Centre 2 polling station.
