Award-winning Ghanaian singer, Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie, professionally known as Camidoh has shed light on his decision to transition from rap to singing, revealing that the demands of maintaining his skills as a rapper became too overwhelming during his early days as an independent artiste. In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the music star reflected on how the rap scene required intense dedication that, at the time, he simply couldn't keep up with."I just felt that rap became a lot of work for me because as time went on I had to be reading a lot.
I had to be doing so much work.
It was like 'ei this bar is not strong oo' because the bar is always being raised so that was a lot of work for me," he admitted.
Camidoh further noted that aside from the technical demands of rap, the hustle of being an independent artist without label support also shaped his decision to lean into singing-an art form that came more naturally to him. "It's not like we had big labels that were signing us and when you are signed everything else is done for you," the 'Maria' hitmaker explained. "It's like bro we are hustling for ground up so there is no time for luxury.
