The Chairperson of the Constitutional Review Committee, Clara Kowlaga Beeri Kasser-Tee, has condemned the of Ghana for its inconsistencies in addressing disputed election results.
She asserts that these inconsistencies weaken public trust and pave the way for dissatisfaction. "If you say this is the only circumstance under which we do re-collation, but in another instance, you act differently and fail to demonstrate the distinction, you create room for people to be dissatisfied," she said during an interview on News File on Joy News.
Her comments followed the Supreme Court decision that quashed the re-collation of votes from Tema Central, Ablekuma North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
The apex court also stated that the order did not affect the results for Ahafo Ano North and Nsawam Adoagyiri.
