The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has invited the leadership of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) to a meeting scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024. This meeting, according to a statement issued by the FWSC, was requested by the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations to address the ongoing concerns raised by CETAG members. CETAG initiated a nationwide strike on June 14, citing the government's failure to implement agreed-upon arbitral awards and other conditions of service for its members. As the strike enters its third month, there have been calls for the closure of colleges.
