The Member of for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, has raised concerns about the looming possibility of a constitutional crisis in .

He highlighted the risk posed by delays from the Electoral Commission in transmitting the list of duly elected members of parliament following the December 2024 election.

During a recent live interview on Channel One TV, Gakpey emphasized the need for caution, stating, "If care is not taken, it can delay the entire parliamentary calendar, leading to a constitutional crisis." Additionally, he revealed that the postponement of activities for the ninth parliament in Ghana could significantly disrupt parliamentary duties.

Key events, such as the election of a new Speaker scheduled two days before the swearing-in of the newly elected president on 7th January and the swearing-in of the Speaker and MPs on the same morning, may face delays.
