Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has stirred the waters of Ghana's political discourse with a sharp critique of a senior police officer allegedly manoeuvring to become the next Inspector-General of Police (IGP) under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
A Plus questioned the officer's loyalty and intentions, claiming the individual had previously been appointed by President Akufo-Addo during the New Patriotic Party's tenure to aid in election rigging efforts. "I'm curious about how it seems everyone in Ghana is now a member of the NDC," A Plus began in his characteristic candid tone.
He accused the officer of switching allegiances and lobbying "gidigidi" for the top police role, adding, "We need people who are fair.
People who are professionals and can stand their grounds to move Ghana forward." A Plus did not shy away from revisiting the officer's alleged role during Akufo-Addo's administration. "When you accepted that position from Akufo Addo, you were well aware that the NPP was desperate to rig the election.
