The ruling (NPP) will establish a committee in January to look into the party's performance in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections, the party's chairman, Stephen Ayensu Ntim, has announced.

According to Chairman Ntim, the committee will achieve this by engaging party faithful and the public in order to gain a comprehensive insight into why it performed woefully in such a high-stakes election.

The NPP suffered a landslide loss in the presidential election after its flag bearer, , garnered about 1.6 million votes less than his political rival, now president-elect, .

In the parliamentary election results declared so far, the NPP has obtained less than 90 seats in a 276-seat legislature, suffering losses in areas it has long held since the inception of the 4th Republic.
