Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been declared the winner of the Tema Central parliamentary election following a recount of the results.
Forson secured 18,870 votes, narrowly defeating Ebi Bright of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 18,815 votes.
The re-collation process faced a temporary suspension due to heightened tensions.
This disruption occurred when representatives from the NDC, including South Dayi MP Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor and Tema Central parliamentary candidate Ebi Bright, chose to boycott the proceedings at the Electoral Commission's (EC) Ridge Office.
