President-elect John Dramani Mahama has said that he thought it was only local companies that the outgoing Akufo-Addo government owed.
However, it has been revealed that international companies are also facing a similar ordeal.
Mr Mahama said this when the Canadian High Commissioner to Ghana, Myriam Montrat, complained over delayed payments to international companies by the current government, during a meeting with President-Elect John Dramani Mahama in Accra on Thursday, December 19. "I do think that one of the things that will be helpful in ensuring that companies are being paid on time because that is also another factor that has been a huge deterrent, having to fight to get the money that has been owed," she stated.
In response, Mr Mahama said "You are not the only country to raise the issue of payments.
