Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati is set to organize the third edition of the Ghana Junior Olympics, an event designed to discover and nurture young athletic talent.
The competition will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Azamati, in an interview with TV3, shared that his inspiration for the initiative came from his own challenges as a young athlete.
He emphasized the need to provide better support for talented Ghanaian youth, ensuring they have opportunities he lacked at the start of his career. "This idea came about when I went to the US and saw how they introduce kids to athletics at a young age.
