Alexander Afenyo-Markin has shared insights into the current state of political affairs following the recently concluded general election.

The outgoing Majority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Effutu Afenyo-Markin noted that there are already signs of internal struggles within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he believes will ultimately shape the party's future.

Reflecting on Monday's parliamentary session, Afenyo-Markin observed, "Already in Parliament on Monday, we saw a few things. "In Parliament, we see things with our own eyes and hear things", he said on Joy FM. "Their internal struggle for leadership has started; they have already begun their campaign for who will succeed Mahama." He hinted at tensions within the NDC, which may come to light more prominently in the years leading up to the 2028 elections.

However, when pressed for details on which MPs were involved in these leadership discussions, Afenyo-Markin kept the information close to his chest. "I will not disclose the names of the MPs who have started these conversations.
