The Church of Pentecost Windy Hill District of Kasoa in the Central Region on Sunday held a retirement service in honour of four of their Elders who have served in the capacity for various years.
Among them was the retired former Deputy Editor of The Spectator, one of the products of the New Times Corporation, Elder John Ackom-Asante.
He has been a member of the church for 46 years and an Elder for 26 years.
Sporting a dark suit and accompanied by his wife, Christiana, a lawyer and Deaconess, Elder Ackom-Asante stepped on the podium to receive his Certificate of Service and a citation embossed with his portrait, attracting a resounding applause from the congregation.
