Ghana's Black Queens face a daunting task in the 2026 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON ) qualifiers as they are set to face one of Rwanda or Egypt in the second round qualifying stage.
After failing to qualify for the 2022 edition of the highly-regarded competition, Nora Hauptle's side will seek to secure successive WAFCON qualifications having already earned a berth in next year's edition which is slated to be held in Morocco but they need to pass the second round qualification huddle.
Ghana, who obtained a bye in the first round of qualifiers due to their FIFA rankings, will begin competing in the second round where they have to meet the winner of the encounter between Rwanda and Egypt.
Ghana was one of the top six seeded countries, alongside Zambia, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon, and South Africa, that bypassed the first round courtesy of their FIFA rankings.
