Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has asserted that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta wielded more power than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his tenure.

Speaking on TV3's Key Points show hosted by Alfred Ocansey on Saturday, December 14, 2024, Appiah-Kubi emphasized that Ofori-Atta's influence undermined the President's authority. "Ken Ofori-Atta was more powerful than Nana Akufo-Addo," Appiah-Kubi stated emphatically during the discussion, which focused on the outcome of the 2024 elections.

Critics argue that Ofori-Atta's close familiar relationship with the President, as his cousin, contributed to his apparent authority in decision-making processes within the government.
