Outgoing Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has claimed that "the establishment" within his own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), actively worked against him.

He made this revelation during discussion on The Key Points with Alfred Ocansey on Saturday, December 14, 2024. "The establishment worked against me," Appiah-Kubi asserted, lamenting the challenges he faced within the party's structures.

His comments come in the wake of the NPP's defeat in the 2024 general elections, which saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regain power by over 1.6 million votes and also winning 185 parliamentary seats, so far.

Appiah-Kubi's statement adds to ongoing discussions about the internal divisions and alleged favoritism that have plagued the NPP, contributing to its loss at the polls on December 7.
