The National Peace Council (NPC) has called for due process and calm amid concerns about the ongoing collation of election results for three Eastern Region constituencies at the Tesano Police Training School in Accra.
The collation exercise, which involves results from Akwatia, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, and Fanteakwa constituencies, has faced significant delays after being relocated twice-first to the Eastern Regional level and then to the national level.
The Electoral Commission (EC) made this decision following reports of disruptions, destruction, and incidents of arson at various collation centres across the country.
Key to the NPC's concerns is the clarification that the Tesano collation exercise was initiated by the EC itself and not influenced by any political party or the Ghana Police Service.
