President-elect John Dramani Mahama has voiced serious concerns about the outgoing government's actions, particularly regarding last-minute contracts and mass recruitments.

Speaking during a meeting with the UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, on December 13, 2024, Mahama warned that these actions could place a significant strain on his incoming administration.

Mahama pointed out that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) transition team has observed para-state agencies signing last-minute contracts, potentially committing the new government to obligations before it even takes office.

He also highlighted reports of mass recruitments into state agencies, which he fears will create financial liabilities for his administration.
