The 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections have delivered a decisive victory to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), a result that has sent shock waves through the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, has acknowledged the party's disappointing loss and called for a period of "honest introspection and reflection." In a statement issued on December 11 following the election, Napo stressed the importance of respecting the will of Ghanaians. "The 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections resulted in a victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This was not the outcome we, in the NPP, envisaged; but we respect the verdict of the Ghanaian people.

To Ghanaians, we have heard you clearly and with humility we accept.
