The December 7, 2024 elections in Ghana saw a couple, Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, vying for parliamentary seats.
Unfortunately, their dreams of becoming parliamentarians together were shattered when they lost their respective elections.
It would have been a historic first in Ghana's Fourth Republic for a husband and wife to become parliamentarians in the same parliament.
However, Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue, a former Western Regional Secretary and Presidential Staffer, and his wife, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, a former Deputy Information Minister and Member of Parliament for Akuapim North, unfortunately, had their ambition dashed.
