The Western Region has achieved a significant milestone in women's participation in Ghanaian politics.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Regional Women's Organiser Gladys Egyir, the number of female MPs from the National Democratic Congress has increased from one to five.

This progress marks a new era of inclusivity and development in the region.

Before this year's election, Dorcas Affo-Toffey was indeed the only female parliamentary representative from the Western Region, specifically from the Jomoro Constituency, serving among seven male counterparts in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
