Former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo has urged the incoming administration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama to prioritize good governance and avoid complacency despite its overwhelming electoral victory.

Speaking to the media in reaction to the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) 2024 election win, Domelevo emphasized that the strong parliamentary majority granted to the NDC is a mandate to deliver transformative leadership for Ghanaians. "It is expected that he [Mahama] leaves a legacy of unprecedented good governance.

He must not assume that having a majority in parliament means pushing through policies that are not in the best interest of the people," Domelevo stated.

He also called for necessary constitutional and legal reforms to enhance governance, expressing support for changes that promote accountability and transparency.
