The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Gushegu, Yussif Malimali has called for investigations into allegations of over voting in the just ended Parliamentary Elections in the constituency.

According to him, happenings in the constituency before, during and after the elections influenced the outcome of the elections, which he noted did not reflect the will of the people of the Gushegu constituency.

He said, "We owe it to our supporters, the Chiefs, elders and people of this constituency and also to the integrity of the system to pursue a full investigation into these matters before accepting the final result." The Parliamentary Candidate claimed among other things that over-voting was recorded in about 30 polling stations in areas considered as strongholds of the NPP.

Mr Yussif also accused some CODEO Election Observers of dictating to voters to vote for the NPP, allegations that has not been able to independently verify.
