Not all seemingly successful members of the Akufo-Addo administration misconducted themselves, therefore, the new Mahama administration ought to carry out accountability exercises in ways that wouldn't target innocent people, a United Kingdom-based Ghanaian economist and political observer, Michael Danquah has said.
Mr Danquah noted that in a bid to hold past government officials accountable, Mr Mahama will be pressured by his party members to go after people they may have bones to pick with.
If he succumbs to the pressure, then he would probably be committing the same "sins" that Akufo-Addo was accused of doing which means business as usual. "Mr Mahama has promised us that he will do things differently.
Without a doubt, the new administration should hold past officials and even officials of the new administration accountable but President Mahama would have to ensure that he does not come under pressure from his party people to target these officials. "Mind you, not all of them misconducted themselves.
