Suspected supporters of the (NCD) have raided the premises of the Bono Regional Office of Forestry Commission, ransacked offices and made away with some valuable items and property of the Commission.
The incident happened when some staff and workers on duty had to abandon their official duties and run for their lives, as the irate supporters who wielded firearms, machetes and other offensive instruments raided the premises.
A worker on duty and an eyewitness who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on condition of anonymity on Tuesday said, "many of the workers of the commission are now traumatised and could not even come to work today". "The motive of the raiders was not to harm the employees.
They just ransacked the offices and picked some valuable items, including money and other property", another worker stated.
