The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Steering Committee has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Ghana Police Service over what they describe as a "lackadaisical" response to incidents of lawlessness and violence following the 2024 general elections.
In a press statement after an emergency meeting on Tuesday, December 10, the committee noted with concern the escalating acts of vandalism, intimidation, and destruction of property allegedly perpetrated by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The NPP alleged that their parliamentary candidates and some Electoral Commission (EC) officials were held at gunpoint at several collation centers, including in Fanteakwa North, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Techiman South, and Aowin constituencies.
These individuals, the party claims, were coerced into declaring results in favour of the NDC under duress.
