Collation and declaration of the parliamentary results for the Tema Central Constituency has been suspended following collation disagreement between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidates.

Earlier, supporters of the NDC accused the Electoral Commission officials for delaying the collation and declaration of the parliamentary results, alleging that the delay was deliberate to skew the figures in favour of the NPP candidate, Charles Forson.

Citing some inconsistencies in the presidential results, the NPP collation agents called for recollation of the results for which it was done for three consecutive times.

In the process of the third count around 11:30 am on Sunday at the time when the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia conceded defeat, some NDC supporters invaded the collation centre in an attempt to get the EC officials to expedite the collation and declaration processes.
