Three people have reportedly been killed, with several others critically injured, following a violent clash between suspected land guards and members of the Agona Abodom community during the 2025 Akwanbo Festival.
The incident occurred at Agona Abodom, a farming community in the Agona West Municipality of the Central Region, which has recently emerged from decades of chieftaincy disputes.
According to reports, the chaos erupted when a rival faction allegedly mobilised land guards to disrupt the festival celebrations.
The attack led to the destruction of two vehicles and several properties, including furniture at the chief's palace.
