Director for Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has questioned the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) claims of overwhelming popularity in the Ashanti Region, suggesting their electoral dominance may be overstated.

He made this assertion following the results of the 2024 presidential election, which showed a difference of 669,724 votes between the NPP's Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, in the region.

Dr Boamah further claimed that the NPP's purported popularity in the Ashanti Region is bolstered by questionable practices.

Highlighting recent incidents, he pointed to the uncovering of 500,000 fake ballot papers in Kwadaso, claiming this discovery undermines the NPP's credibility.
