General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Fifi Kwetey has said that the party will use its Majority status in the next Parliament to advance the interest of Ghana and its people.
He says they will use it responsibly.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, December 8, he said "We have secured a very significant majority and a majority that we aim to use responsibly and for the progress of the people of Ghana. "The process as far as the presidential result is also concerned, we will urge the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa and her team to make sure the declaration is not unduly delayed because we know for a fact that nothing can be done about it because it is already in the bag." Regarding the general elections, he said the NDC is committed to ensuring peaceful elections devoid of violence at various collation centres. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey noted that clear instructions have been given to party agents at collation centres to abide with the electoral process.
This comes shortly after the New Patriotic Party in a press conference accused the NDC supporters of orchestrating violence at collation centres.
