The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on the National Peace Council to intervene and prompt the Electoral Commission (EC) to expedite the declaration of presidential election results.
Speaking at a press briefing on December 8, Nketia stressed that the delays in announcing the results are creating unnecessary tension across the country. "The National Peace Council must call on the EC to declare the results," Nketia stated, urging swift action to maintain peace and stability.
The NDC Chairman emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the electoral process, pointing out that prolonged delays could erode public confidence and heighten anxiety among the populace.
He further noted that timely declaration of results is critical for upholding the integrity of the democratic process.
