The incumbent Sekondi MP, Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer, has lost a fiercely contested election to (NDC) candidate Blay Nyameke Armah.
Blay Nyameke Armah secured 14,558 votes, representing 56.40% of the total valid votes, while Egyapa Mercer, who represented the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 11,084 votes, representing 42.94% of the valid votes cast.
Counting at polling stations have concluded following the closure of polls at 5 p.m.
What is left is the declaration of results at constituency collation centres.
