Tension flared in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the Greater Accra Region after the close of the December 7 polls, with residents raising concerns about the handling of election materials.
Reports reaching MyJoyOnline.com indicate that after counting was concluded in all the polling stations, with ballot papers transferred to the coalition centre, one polling station had issues with the presiding officer.
It said the presiding officer refused to place the Biometric Verification Device (BVD) in the ballot box and seal it for transport to the collation centre, as is standard procedure.
The situation escalated when the Ghana Police Service intervened, instructing the presiding officer to comply.
