The National Peace Council (NPC) has expressed deep concern over reports of violence during today's election, particularly the tragic shooting incident at Nyankpala in the Northern Region.
At a media briefing, the Council revealed that four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, which left one person dead and several others injured. "We are saddened by the loss of life and extend our heartfelt condolences to the families affected and the Nyankpala community.

He used the opportunity to remind political parties of the peace pact their leaders signed before the elections, committing to maintain peace before, during, and after the polls. "We plead with all political parties to honour the pledges made by their presidential candidates to ensure peace in our nation.
