Following reports of gunfire in Nyankpala in the Northern Region, Minority Leader in Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Tamale South Constituency, Haruna Iddrisu, has expressed his disappointment and called for immediate action from security agencies.

Addressing the incident on TV3, Haruna Iddrisu urged security forces to fulfill their duty and apprehend those responsible for the violence. "Between now and 5 PM, there has to be a heightened security alert in a number of constituencies, particularly Tolon, Gariga, Gushegu, and others, where the NPP appears to be facing defeat," he stated.

The Minority Leader also criticised the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing them of being desperate to retain power. "The NPP will stop at nothing.

They are thirsty and desperate for power.
