Ghana legend Abedi Pele visited the camp of the Black Maidens on Thursday in a bid to lift the team's spirits ahead of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Girls U-17 tournament.

Pele, who was a member of Ghana's last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning squad in 1982, was all smiles as he encouraged the ladies at their training base, the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram.

The visit of the legendary midfielder was well received by the team, which had eased their way to a resounding 5-1 win over Rootz Sistaz on Wednesday in their first preparatory game for the tournament.

The Black Maidens will square off with Epiphany on Friday before wrapping up their preparations against Sissamba Ladies on Sunday.
