The Canada Chapter Chairman of the (NDC), Gameli Atakuma, has called on Ghanaians to jealously guard against any means to compromise the outcome of the 7 December elections.

The 2024 general election is seen as a straight fight between John Mahama of the opposition  and the governing New Patriotic Party's Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking to the host of Pampaso, Ransford Boakye, on Radio Gold on Wednesday (4 December), Atakuma said some members of the Canada Chapter of the NDC have come to Ghana to support the party in the electoral process. "From some information collected, we realised that the previous elections could have been won easily at the polling station, yet certain things went on or do go on, so right now what we are doing is that those of us from the diaspora who can be at the polling stations are going to ensure the election is not compromised...." "It is the stuffing of the ballot papers, so we are here to purposely police the ballot on election day.

We are doing it for the people of Ghana; this is a constitutional mandate, and nobody has the right to trample on it," he said.
