The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Kwasi Agyenim Boateng, has advised drivers to exercise extra caution during the election and Christmas periods to reduce road accidents, as reported by MyJoyOnline.
He identified human activities such as speeding, overloading, and the use of faulty tyres as the major causes of road accidents during his speech at a symposium in Kumasi.
His statement was based on an NRSA report that indicated a disturbing increase in road crashes in 2024.
The report by MyJoyOnline further revealed that a provisional annual report by the NRSA from January to October recorded 2,038 fatalities across the country.
