Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has acquired two new pumping systems to boost water production capacity in Accra, aiming to alleviate water rationing in the capital.

The company announced this during the completion of the rehabilitation and installation of new pumps at the intake of the Weija Treatment Plant.

The project, valued at €6.2 million and funded through internally generated resources, is expected to significantly enhance water availability for domestic and industrial purposes.

Plans are underway to add two additional pumps by the end of the month.
