The National Election Security Taskforce has urged security personnel nationwide to actively participate in the Special Voting exercise scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024. "The National Election Security Taskforce wishes to inform all personnel of the security agencies that the special voting, slated for tomorrow, December 2, 2024, is going to take place as scheduled across the country with the exception of Eastern and Western Regions," a press statement on December 1, 2024, said.
However, the Electoral Commission (EC) has postponed the exercise in the Eastern and Western Regions due to issues with the quality of ballot papers.
The EC has decided to recall and reprint the affected ballot papers, ensuring they meet the required standards.
Voting in these regions has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024.
