The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare has commended the political parties and presidential candidates, and their supporters for how they have conducted themselves since the election process began.
According to him, this conduct has made the electoral process less tense, with minimal to zero violence, making it one of the most peaceful election processes in Ghana's history.
Speaking at the signing of the 2024 peace pact on Thursday, November 28, Dr Dampare acknowledged that the efforts of the presidential candidates, their supporters, and the entire Ghanaian populace have significantly eased the work of the Police Service.
However, he emphasised that the most important task, the main election on 7 December, remains ahead and urged the presidential candidates to continue upholding their commitment to maintaining peace for a successful electoral process.
