The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Wa West Constituency, Peter Lanchene Toobu, has responded to calls by the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, for Parliament to be recalled ahead of the December 7 elections.
Speaking in an interview with Adil Supremo on a Wa-based radio station, Home Radio (99.7 FM), Peter Toobu stated that he cannot abandon his campaign activities unless the recall is for an urgent and critical matter.
According to him, the timing is ill-suited, as MPs are currently focused on engaging their constituents ahead of the upcoming elections. "The decision to recall Parliament now, without addressing a pressing and essential matter, is unnecessary.
It is not only disruptive to our work in our constituencies but also adds to the hardships of Ghanaians," Peter Toobu said.
