Freddie Blay, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has condemned Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin's recent comments, calling them harsh and unnecessary.
Bagbin had referred to the executive and judiciary as "sinners" for their involvement in delaying the passage of the anti-LGBTQ Bill, which Parliament has passed and is now awaiting presidential assent.
In an interview on Citi FM's Eyewitness News on Friday, November 22, Blay expressed his disapproval, stating that such language is inappropriate and undermines the mutual respect and cooperation required between the branches of government. "There was one point where the speaker was describing the judiciary and the executive as sinners.
I think it was too harsh.
