The management of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has called for public support to procure additional dialysis machines to enhance specialist care for renal patients.
The appeal follows the government's introduction of free dialysis care under the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
While this initiative is expected to benefit many, KATH warns that its current capacity may be insufficient to meet the anticipated demand.
Through public contributions and internally generated funds, the hospital has already acquired several dialysis machines, increasing the renal unit's capacity.
