A member of the 's (NPP) communications team, Ellen Daaku, has defended former President 's recent endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's presidential candidate.
In a panel discussion on TV3 New Day on November 21, 2024, she emphasised that, as a founding member of the NPP, the former President is well within his rights to endorse any candidate from his own party. "I find it quite funny that people are up in arms against Kufuor endorsing Bawumia.
The last time I checked, former President Kufuor was one of the founding members of the NPP. "President Kufuor hasn't told anyone he has left the NPP.
He is still an NPP member, and I am sure he is going to be an NPP member for the rest of his life," she stated.
