Security and safety expert, Adam Bonaa, has voiced his deep shock at the silence of the Ghana Armed Forces' leadership regarding the allegations made against Brigadier General Michael Opoku, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Central Command of the Army.
In an interview on Onua FM on November 20, 2024, Adam Bonaa said that the silence and lack of response from the army are both deafening and concerning.
He further stated that the silence from the military command could lead to various interpretations among Ghanaians, particularly after such serious allegations were made against their members, accusing them of attempting to rig the general elections. "It is very important for the military to come out and deny that Brigadier General Michael Opoku is not involved.
The military high command and the Chief of Army Staff must come out to confirm or deny the allegations because if the entire military command in the Ashanti Region has been called out and there has been no response from them after 24 hours, then it speaks volumes," he stated.
