The apex court on Tuesday November 12th, 2024 ruled against Speaker Bagbin in his controversial decision to declare the seat of Agona West, Suhum, Amenfi Central and Fomena Vacant.
In a five Justices of the 7-member panel of the court concluded that the Speaker's declaration did not reflect "a true and proper interpretation of Articles 97 (1) (g) and (h) of the 1992 constitution".
While, the two dissenting justices dismissed the case, noting that the Supreme Court did not have jurisdiction to determine the matter.
However, reacting to the detailed ruling on his Facebook page on Thursday November 14th, 2024, Lawyer Sory asserted that "there was no order against the Speaker".
