Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez for a record £81.5 million. The Argentine forward has penned a six-year deal with the Spanish club, extending his stay until 2030. Alvarez, who won six major trophies during his two-year tenure at Manchester City, expressed his gratitude for his time at the club. "Today I say goodbye to this amazing club, with a lot of emotion," he said. "These have been two very special years. During this time, I have grown and learnt a lot - both as a player and as a person." Atletico Madrid's statement described Alvarez as a "versatile, fast, skilful forward with great ability to link up with his teammates," also noting his capacity to play as an attacking midfielder. The deal comprises an initial £64.4 million fee, with a potential additional £17.1 million in add-ons.
