The Electoral Commission (EC) has said it will maintain the presidential ballot for the 2024 elections despite its disqualification of the Presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).Announcing the disqualification of Phillip Appiah Kubi also known as Roman Fada on Tuesday, November 12, the Commission said "regarding the 2024 presidential ballots, I would like to assure you that there is no cause for alarm."The EC said the printing of ballot papers are ninety percent complete and will not be changed.
EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa explained that the GFP's former candidate, the late Akua Donkoh's image, name and position will be maintained on the ballot as it originally is.According to the EC, intense public education will be carried out prior to the elections to urge the public not to cast vote for the late Madam Akua Donkoh.The EC disqualified Roman Fada from contesting in the upcoming presidential elections due to a number of errors and illegalities detected on his nomination forms."There were also illegalities on the forms," TV3's Crosby Annan reported the commission as saying, on Tuesday.The party announced his nomination in a letter dated November 4 to inform the Electoral Commission of its new Presidential Candidate for the upcoming 2024 elections following the death of Madam Akua Donkor.Prior to Akua Donkor's death, Philip was the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party.
