Ghanaian gospel musician Uncle Ato has voiced his concerns over how some churches treat their instrumentalists and other musicians, calling for more attention to be paid to their well-being.   In a recent interview on TV3's Showbiz 360, Uncle Ato emphasized the importance of fair treatment and compensation for those who contribute to the church's music ministry. The gospel artist cited biblical scriptures to support his position, particularly referring to Luke 10:7, which says, "every labourer deserves their wages." He also pointed to 1 Corinthians 9:7, which notes that a soldier does not go to war by purchasing his own uniform and boots, implying that those who serve the church should not have to bear the costs of their own work.

The renowned singer also mentioned Matthew 10, which underscores that a labourer is entitled to their pay, suggesting that churches should not ignore the needs of their musicians. "When you go, they will give you where to sleep and it must be given," he explained, emphasizing that the church's responsibility goes beyond just offering spiritual support.
