National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has called on both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to respect the Electoral Commission's directive for a rerun in the Ablekuma North Constituency, noting that the result will not affect the overall composition of Parliament.
Speaking on Channel One TV's Breakfast Daily on Thursday, July 3, Mr.
Vanderpuye criticised the NPP's refusal to accept the Electoral Commission's decision, accusing the party of resisting the rerun because they anticipate defeat. "The only reason the NPP has taken this stand against the rerun in the 19 polling stations is because they foresee defeat.
If they claim these polling stations are their stronghold, why are they afraid?
